Sanja Erceg Vrekalo graduated on the Music Academy in Zagreb in 1995, and during her studies she debuted at the Croatian National Theater in Split, singing in the operas Adel and Mara (J. Hace) in 1992. She appeared in many roles in operas such as Rigoletto, Carmen, Karmina Burana, Orgay in the Underworld, Bloody Wedding etc. Erceg Vrekalo has held a series of concerts throughout Croatia and abroad (Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary etc.). She is winner of numerous regional, state and international awards. In 2001, she started teaching music at Josip Hace Music School in Split. In 2007, Erceg Vrekalo was awarded by the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports for outstanding results in work with students in the 2006/2007 school year. and later for school 2010/2011, 2012/2013 and 2016/2017. She's a winner of the 2014 Annual Award of the Croatian Society of Music and Dance Pedagogy. In addition to her devotion to the professor's call, she successfully dealt with humanitarian work as a member of the Lions Club Marul Split (the initiator for granting scholarships to the best students in the Split-Dalmatia County, as well as the organizer of a series of humanitarian concerts for the purpose of granting scholarships).
Erceg Vrekalo is the organizer of international competition for young musicians Lions Grand Prix for the South region in the Republic of Croatia. From 2010 to 2012 she was the President of theater council of the Croatian National Theater in Split, and also a member of the Theater Council of the Split Youth Theater until 2014.
She is a member of the Association of Music Artists (HDGU) and the association ARS ISSA since 2017 in which she works as an organizer of the Organ Heritage Festival on island Vis.
